This is exactly why I'd like to properly document this place. Few people seem to know it exists, yet, if the rumours are true, it's a wildly embarrassing chapter in the Rutherford saga.

by Bloody Hotdogs! in(just posted this over on exjw reddit as well).
as part of my masters in architecture degree (a treat to myself after leaving jws about 4 years ago), i'm attempting to digitally reconstruct some of watchtower's significant early buildings.
my goal is to produce accurate architectural drawings and images based on solid evidence.

Yes, the entire main house still exists, but has been added to. If the supposed bomb shelter still exists, it should be under the carport of the neighbouring house.
The Beth-Sarim property was never part of the 75 acre Beth-Shan estate. Beth Sarim was built on a +/- 1.6 acre lot within the Kensington Park/Heights subdivision, created in 1910. There was always a valley and public road separating the two properties.

As part of my masters in architecture degree (a treat to myself after leaving JWs about 4 years ago), I'm attempting to digitally reconstruct some of Watchtower's significant early buildings. My goal is to produce accurate architectural drawings and images based on solid evidence. Often, analysis of architecture can shed light on the people/beliefs/cultures/etc. that created them.
Beth-Shan, Rutherford's "House of Security", is proving difficult to document. There are anecdotal accounts of the interior and existence of basements and bomb shelters, but to my knowledge, nothing linking those stories to original blueprints or verifiable photographs. Contacting current owners has not produced anything.
Do you guys have or know of any documents, images, etc. that might be helpful? I've heard that original blueprints for the main house still exist, somewhere... How about verifiable photos of the "bomb-shelter"?
A preview of my reconstruction and the images it is based on, can be found here:

From 1939 on, the house looks as though it is made of two linked volumes. Does anyone know if it started life as two separate buildings, or if a smaller house was enlarged? Architecturally, it is very odd. One half is a symmetrical 'H' plan, while the other is a smaller 'L' plan with round bay window.

I have attempted to compile all relevant and recent quotes regarding the 7000 creative days here:
http://www.jwbeliefs.com/jehovahs-witnesses-believe-creative-days/
To the OP: Where did you source that quote from the 2005 class? I'd love to get my hands on an official talk outline or something...

Creative day 7000 years, is this correct and how did the Org come up with this idea?
by Crazyguy inany body know?

@ BluesBrother
So now "Science" is to be allowed to determine the length of a Creative Day...Curious and curiouser ....
"Creative days" are not usually the subject of scientific research. I would guess that the only "scientists" working to assign them a length are ones that already agree with Jehovah's Witnesses and the Genesis account of creation.
Jehovah's Witnesses have always stated that their interpretation of Genesis is entirely consistent with "true science" while teaching that each creative "day" was only "thousands" of years long.
Besides, we know JWs reject most of natural history from their teachings on other subjects, like the order of creation, flood, water canopy, mammoths, dinosaurs, fossils, radiometric dating, and so on...

Wooly Mammoths
by Bloody Hotdogs! ina jw came to my door a while back and used wooly mammoths as evidence for noah's flood.
he was a bit older, so i thought this must be some oddball out-of-date teaching of jehovah's witnesses.
i could remember something in the insight book about frozen mammoths, but not much else.

Well, my guy simply said that long hair on mammoths was for the same reason that some animals in Africa have long hair today, which is... well, I doubt he knows. -

A JW came to my door a while back and used wooly mammoths as evidence for Noah's flood. He was a bit older, so I thought this must be some oddball out-of-date teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses. I could remember something in the Insight book about frozen mammoths, but not much else. WELL, was I ever wrong. JWs have published more on wooly mammoths than (I think) any other extinct animal. They've really hung themselves on this one.
So, yesterday, I set about collecting every single quote I could find on the WT CDROM and made a page on my website devoted entirely to wooly mammoths:
WOOLY MAMMOTHS - What do Jehovah's Witnesses Believe?Have fun! ... and let me know if Ive missed anything...
